Hi everyone! We've done a few smaller raft ups at Lake Boca, met some great new friends and had some good times.

What do you say about a big get together sometime soon? Some members wrote in that they would love to join us but couldn't make it. If we plan this correctly, everyone can come and we'll have a terrific time. We'll all meet new friends and have a super time. The more, the merrier.

It doesn't have to be Lake Boca but it would be nice if there was a marina near by where we could all go and have a slip for a night (or 2????).

What do you think!!!???

I might be up for it...I'm bringing my "new" to me 390 EC down from Melbourne next week. Might turn into a "Boat warming party"

OK, a good start!

we need to hear from a bunch more boaters. Also, we should get a couple of dates that work with everyone. Is Lake Boca good or will more people come if it's somewhere else? Peanut Island? Lake Silvia? They all have marinas nearby

Depending on the weekend and of course the location, we would also be in for a raft up. Since we are in Cape Canaveral, a little more north would help us out since we would have to leave Sunday to get back...you know work and all.

My cousin came into town from NY and I had to pick him up in Miami...and take him to Miami Beach so there wasn't enough time to do that and get up there. Sorry I missed you guys...I'll get there eventually...

Randy, Ray, are you going to the boat show that weekend (the 13-16th?) at all? Let me know if you want to meet down there, and we can get together and grab a meal together afterwords.

Probably not. My wife cannot stand or walk for anything over an hour (recovering from surgery). Don't know what Ray's planning.

OK, understand.. hope it's a speedy recovery!!! Keep in touch and I hope to see you all soon!!

Peanut Island might be a bit better for the Space Coast~Treasure Coast people....and it is very convienient to Sail Fish Marina and Riviera Beach Marina as well as being right at the Palm Beach Harbor entrance.

I agree on that being a good central location. Is there sufficient room for a 20 boat raft up?

I'm pretty sure there is room...I'll double check over the next week and let you know.

I am tied up with survey, closing and a 120 mile cruise home this week so it will probably be next weekend before I can put an eye on it.

I think the ICW runs along the west side of the island and rafting/anchoring is done on the east side.

We go to Peanut Island all the time. Raft up can be done on the NORTH side of the island. There is a HUGE sand bar on the north side as well during really low tides. The Channel around the sand bar is plenty deep for large 50+ ft boats to get by but can get tight during the busy weekends.

There are east and west docks to the island. The east docks fit about 8-10 boats with a beam of about 10-12 feet. The west docks are floating and never docked there so don't know how many would fit. The island has camping sites available through reservations. Bathroom facilities on site as well. The island has a fishing pier which is notorious for stuck lines due to the rocky bottom at the pier. There is also a snorkeling area.

Here is some more info:

I'm still working on my drive (water in oil) and waiting for parts and tools. One thing lead to another and I'm replacing the trim set while I'm there. Hopefully I can make it but if not....be safe and we will see ya next time.

We have been to Peanut Island a couple of times and there is enough room, as long as we get to an area that is deep enough during low tide and we get there early enough. On the Northeast side of the island, there are some buoys we can tie up to for the raft up. This area always has enough water, low tide there is 6 ft + from what I remember.

before we set a location, let's get more boaters involved and see where everyone is coming from. I wasn't thinking about next weekend, i was trying to plan this in advance so a bunch of folks could make it.
