I removed my props to be reconditioned. My boat is a 2006 320 v drive with the. zf hurth 63iv transmission. It is stated in my manual to check the shift cable connection at each transmission to determine which shaft turned clockwise and which turned counter clockwise.

When I put the port transmission in fwd the cable connection leans away from the flywheel.. And opposite on the starboard engine.
Does it make sense that my port shaft would spin rh and the starboard shaft would be spinning lh? Think I have this correct but don't want to find out I am wrong after I am launched.... I am installing the props this afternoon and should have written down which prop came off of which shaft, but I didn't...

Your Starboard is CW and the Port is CCW.

Adding to my confusion, I called sea Ray and they said that port side should be left hand rotation and stbd side should be right hand rotation. Why does mine seem reversed. Going to start engines and engage tranny and see what direction things are spinning...

Look at the bright side...If you get it wrong just pull the sticks into reverse to go forward until next year when you haul the boat again!!!!!! I have personal experience with getting this wrong... It was on a trailer boat so no biggy..... I also ran a new steering cable over the top of the steering wheel the wrong direction on the same boat. That was WAAAAAAY tricky to drive having to turn the wheel the wrong way. Sorry I am really of no help.

a left hand prop rotates to the left ,a right hand prop rotates to the right.
where the confusion is ,a standard motor rotates to the left but uses a prop that turns to the right.

Bt- so if viewing the transmission as shown in the picture (from behind the coupler) in post number 1, if the shaft is turning counter clockwise , is it safe to say that the it should have a rh prop on it and vice versa for the cw turning prop.

Ok well, I appreciate all the assistance. I think I over thought this, looking from aft to bow outside behind the boat, the port side shaft is spinning ccw, I put the lh prop on that shaft and the starboard side shaft is spinning clockwise so I out the right hand prop on it. Looks correct to me, if anyone else has some info please let me know....

When installing, looking from behind the boat, if they are in forward this is what you'd see.

Thanks woody,
That picture certainly helps, hooked the boat up to the hose and ran it in gear and observed the shafts from outside the boat. Then it made perfect sense.
I got caught up looking at the turn of the shaft from the back side of the tranny, which appears reversed! too many days of vacation can rot ones mind!
Ps. Don't tell anyone I was looking at the shaft from the backside of a tranny!

Mine are stamped too, I was over thinking this and looking at things from the wrong pov. Fully understand the set up now, very simple when my mind isn't fogged!
