Hello all I have a 87 Seville. Went to try and replace the running and anchor lights with leds. The bulbs matched exactilly but they would not work. I also tried replacing the cabin lights and. . . . no dice:smt021 :smt013. Why could this be that they work with incandesents but not leds:huh:? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to reverse the bulbs in the socket? LEDs are looking for specific polarity and will not work if it is reversed.

I am sure I did but I will try again and see what happens. Thanks for the info

remeber leds are not uscg approved for navigation lights. some companys do offer approved leds but they are total replacement not just swaping out the blub. Just a thought be carefull, nav lights (especically at night) are important and blub output is the issiue. Leds are usally not bright enough.

Also, you probably have to compensate for the resistance in a regular bulb that LED's don't have. Many replacement LED's have built in resistors, but I'd check that.

I am using the bulbs for the inside cabin lights. I am also going to buy the led mooring light and a led bi color bow light good to 1 mile.
