LED Light Bar for Radar Arch

So as we unfortunately move towards fall and the sun setting sooner, and with my kids going back to school soon, we will be doing more boating in the late evening as we head to the cabin in the boat which requires us to come down a tight canal in low light. I have a spot light at the bow but it just doesn’t throw the light out that I would prefer. I’m thinking about installing an LED light Bar on top of my arch to help light everything up as we come down the canal and tie up to the island. Couple questions:

Anyone have a recommendation on size or manufacturer of the LED light bar
Any concerns I should be aware of?
Is there any issue with this installed pretty close to / underneath / just forward of my RM Quantum 2 radar?

It is against Coast Guard regs to use any light other than actual navigation lights while underway. That being said, if its a narrow channel with no lighting, go for it, just don't leave it on for any period of time, just quick bursts.

I wouldn’t recommend
At least mount temporarily and see before installimg you’ll usually find to much light reflects off the bow and just blinds you

if you have the typical 5” chrome Jabsco on the bow try this simplier I found it to be 4 or 5 times brighter

The original is a PAR36 aircraft landing light. They only have a 50 hour rated life and as they get older they get dimmer, the tungsten clouds the lens. Not all that good when new.

I went with LED for John Deere tractor RE2516 high/low much better
I had to enlarge the alignment notch slightly and a little tight getting the band on but with a little patience it fits.

Defiantly a BIG NO on light bar on a boat. All that extra light just reflects off the water making it impossible to see and they blind any other boat that might be on the water. Absolutely unsafe for all concerned. The waterway looks like an interstate now. Spend the money on a navigation unit.
