Suggestions?

I purchased all my leds from Marinebeam. Here is a link to the G4 page. I had no issues swapping out my whole boat. I used the “warm white” legs otherwise they are too cold and sterile looking.

Ive used them before but they didn’t have a bulb that would fit my fixtures. Thats kinda what I was asking. I finally found a bulb that fit from LEDwholesalers. Thanks though.

+1 for marinebeam
I literally just replaced 24 halogens with LEDs from them. I'll post the number when I get back to the boat.

Interesting. I have the similar fixture in my 400 Sedan Bridge. The pull down with the gold ring (watch you fingers-LOL) The standard G4 fit with no issues. I did read once that someone simply took a pair of wire cutters and trimmed them down. Simple fix.

I have the same fixtures and had the same issue with length. I have changed all of mine to these as well as a dock neighbor and all have worked very well....

I have heard you can trim the metal wires on them to make them shorter, but never tried.

Hey Bennet.
I actually bought these and they are too long. I contemplated cutting the ends but decided to return those and buy some that fit without alternating them.

Actually 3mm is .118”. 1.5”= 38.1mm.

i wasn’t worried about being inexpensive. I wanted it done correctly without possible radio interference.

Yes, Marinebeam cost about $10 each. They are about 31mm or 1.22 in diameter but they have performed flawlessly.

After spending thousands of dollars on my boat, why would I want to cheap out over a few LEDs? In the grand scheme of things the investment was not that big of a deal.

Agreed.

I installed Marinebeam throughout the entire boat and couldn't be more satisfied. There were some other brands installed and they had this annoying flicker so they were round-filed and replaced with Marinebeam lamps. Also, remember that notice from the USCG on VHF interference? And, also remember the issue with the overheating and fire hazard of some of the Amazon listed cheap lamps? Marinebeam and SuperbrightLed are some of the only ones certified for marine use.
Regarding the pin lengths - Marinebeam states that some of their lamps have longer pins and they are to be cut as needed.

Not disputing anything you say and I am on a large inland lake and not on the coast. However, I am just as pleased with mine from Amazon. No flickering, no going out, and best of all, no heat. Not one failure in 30 months on 30+ bulbs.
