Hi new to this forum, I have a 2007 DA. When it rains I seem to get an inordinate amount of fresh water in my bilge, and I have noticed occasionally moisture on the starboard side of my bed, and a small amount of water accumulates under my AC unit. Anyone seen this before or have any advice

Welcome to CSR. It would probably help if we knew what model 2007 Sundancer you have. Someone with the same model may be able to offer insight as to problems they have had with your specific model.

Yes, it would help us if we know what model your DA is... sounds like a 300 or bigger. The A/C will condensate into the drip pan and drain to your sump box typically. Welcome to CSR!

So when it rains, and you get this water, is your canvas up? Does your bilge pump kick on after the rain?

It only seems to happen when it rains, what are your thoughts on the wet bedding on starboard side after a down pour

Canvas up, should I expect a little bit of water after rain, I have had the boat since 07, I'm usually not their when it rains but I'm sure pumps are working since I test them monthly

That sounds like a bow rail stanchion leak (assuming we're talking about the forward V-berth bed). Do you see moisture in the ceiling in that area?

My bilge is wet all of the time... I think these dripless shaft seal are no completely "dripless" I do not notice any additional water or bilge pump activity after rain. The floor drains out of thru-hulls on either side... I not sure how rain water would get into your bilge. I suppose if it was raining sideways, it could get in through your blower vent tubes.

No none, it seem impossible to get to the stanchions from underneath

I have had rain leaks around the stanchions on my 330 resulting in wet carpeting near the vbirth. Not easy to get at but at least most of them can be reached and resealed. It is a two person job - one dealing with the screw heads from above and one with a socket wrench below.

I had a lot of rain/fresh water leaks, which I tracked down one by one. Unfortunately I don't know your boat though. Mine were coming in through two poorly done framing- to- fiberglass areas, one the step going down into the cabin, another way up on the flybridge at the dash area. Both allowed water to run through the cracks and down other wall/floor surfaces and end up in the bilge. I also made aluminum "awnings" over my cockpit stowage doors where the water just went straight into the cabinet and down to the bilge. And my coping around the engine compartment hatch leaked into the bilge, which is just a recaulking job. For what it's worth, I also was indeed getting rainwater into my engine compartment vents, so I had to redesign them, tilting or angling them more downward. I did about twenty things and finally got a reasonably dry bilge, even though it has to get wet when it rains because the step down to the cabin drains to the bilge. No biggy.
You'll get it, but sometimes you have to take a few things apart to trace it. Try with the powder or paper towels, the hose going from bottom to top, etc..
