Help! I have water entering the foward salon through the port holes, yesterday it rained heavy while I was in the boat and I saw little drops of water rolling down behind the metal frame. All of the screws are tight and checked the gasket they seem to be recently replace do i have to rebed the port holes on the outside?

that was the first thing I checked all are tight.

I'm all for it just got my 450DA last year and i have alot of questions.

This may help. Had the same problem. New gaskets and adjustments to black knobs stopped one side, but the other side kept leaking in hard, prolonged rain. I ran a bead of silicone on the outside, between the outer trim ring and the main part of the port and that stopped it. Would probably be better if you can remove the outer trim ring (4 screws), but mine were apperantly put on with 5200 and would't come off without using solvent.

I encountered a similiar problem and here is what I did. First I put a thin layer of white grease on the rubber seal, that helps repel the water. I also found that the rub rail needed to be recaulked. Water got behind it and ran down between the plastic component of the rub rail and the fiberglass and then down on the port hole. I also found that there were places where two pieces of the plastic rub rail butted up agianst each other. This created a crack that allowed water to drip down onto the port hole. These cracks should be sealed with caulk. Hope this gives you some ideas

While we are talking port hole windows does anyone know the best way to replace the screens. I have a 99 40Da
