Leaking Fresh Water Tank

I have a 97 300 that I just bought. There seems to be a leak/water coming from under the poly fresh water tank that’s under the aft bed. Any thoughts?

Opinion here. Not fact. it’s unusual for these tanks to just crack, while possible, not likely. That said, the intake or outlet fittings can flex. Check there.

I have a 97 290. The tank seemed to be leaking when I bought it. Turned out to just be the fresh water pump filter had cracked. It's the clear cover in this pic that cracked. I used it as an excuse to remove everything and clean the tank area etc.

Hawk, how did you fix it?

Ultimately all I had to do was replace the filter assembly. They're very cheap. Like $10. It was easier than finding just the cap.
All the extra work was just me removing the tank to give everything a deep clean and to make sure the leaking water didn't cause any issues.
I also replaced the shock absorbing tape around the tank.
Here is a two pack of the strainers on eBay:

And the foam tape I used from Amazon:
Yotache High Density Adhesive Foam Seal Tape 2 in One Roll 2" W X 1/4" T, Weather Strip Insulation for RV, Air Conditioning Window, Garage Door, Total 13 Ft Length
