I found quite a puddle of red ATF in the bilge below the tab pump.
Cleaned it up and a week later it was back. Hoses not leaking nor are the fittings at the pump.
The leak is above the plastic tank. I have removed the unit from the boat and found ATF all under the motor on the black tank lid.
The unit leaks without being used and the tabs up.
Are there replaceable seals and disassembly instructions for the Bennett v351 pump unit?

Thanks in advance

Guy on here named Tabman works for Bennett. If he doesn't pipe up, you may consider sending him a PM for advice. You can also call Bennett and get some assistance. Superior company and great bunch of folks to work with.

Thanks, nice to know they are a great company, the product has been flawless until the leak.. Looks like a simple rebuild with some direction.
Tabman where art thou?

sad1,

I just replied to the private message you sent me.

If the fluid is found on the top of the black reservoir cover, the leak is most likely comming from the shaft seal in the pump. Unfortunately that seal cannot be replaced and the unit will need to be replaced.

Tabman - Thanks for the quick reply. Too bad about the no replaceable seal. I have the unit torn down on the front side of the pump. There are three O rings there. Are they available? I may take a chance that that is the leak point, replace them and try the unit before spending major $ on a new pump.

sad1,

Yes the three O-rings can be replaced. Just send me a Private Message with your name and address and I will mail them to you, no charge.

Have not received them yet. Anxious to see if that is the magic cure.
I have sent you a private PM with my address.
