There is nothing better than having the lake and the Islands to yourself. Rain or shine this is my favorite time of year...

Started out a little iffy

Alex, Been there done that. Yes it is nice when there is no lightning and light rain to enjoy the water almost alone....

Great pics. Looks very peaceful out there. I have never been to the great lakes area. How long can you continue to boat?

Bill we will pull the boat first weekend of November. I fully expect this to be the last weekend with decent weather, but we will be up two more weekends sun, rain, sleet or snow.

I am a little south but leaving the boat in the water for the winter
Plan to be out of the slip up into November weather permitting
gotta time it right though.
gas dock closes October31st and want to lay her up on full tanks.
The admiral is thinking Christmas decorations when the time come

Nice pictures, enjoy the time you have left on the water.....ours went into storage two weeks ago.

it was one heck of a game, I will admit i am jelous deep down.

Zorba - We came out on Monday - There were no boats at the crews nest? - Are all the establishments still open?

Kevin, believe it or not this place was rocking last night. People were coming out of the woodwork. As far as I could tell most everything is still open.

That looks beautiful. Where were you located? Near Put in Bay? I'm not that familiar with that area by boat even though my family is from the West Side of Cleveland, I never lived there.

Mike, we boat out of East Harbor (Marblehead), and do the majority of our boating around the islands. All the pictures in this post are from Put in Bay.

The water in Lake Erie has really cleared up in the last few years....zebra mussels sure are efficient.

Scott, the zebra mussels have definitely cleared up the lake. I'm not sure about others near me but I have had no issues with them boat wise. We'll see when I pull the boat if any have moved in anywhere but all the times I dove to clean the bottom I never saw one.

I pulled the dinghy last week and I found 1 on the bottom.

One last parting shot.

Alex, I thought I saw you leaving the Bay this morning. This shot confirms it as you memorialized our stay. My boat is the flybridge sitting just east of the flag pole. Was a great weekend. You are correct in that the island is just the best after labor day so long as the weather makes for nice boating. Both the ride there and back were sweet. Flat waters and hardly even any boat wakes to deal with.

Alex, Ran into a little rain ourselves today....photo 13.jpg

Great time of the year for boating. We had just one boat go by the house today. We will start shutting down systems on the boat tomorrow but will still do a little putzing around the lake enjoying fall colors and then put her away next week. Fall color tours in the TT start next week.
