We had 19in rain in central tx and lake travis has risen over 5ft in the last 6hrs (and rising). I was planning on spending this weekend - 4th july at the lake, but now due this serious weather condition I am told that lake travis might now be safe, floating debris, unstable boat ramps, submerged or washed away boat docks etc. Any thoughts ?

We are in the same boat here in OK.( or rather... OUT of the boat) 2 rivers feeding our lake and lots of rain! The debris has been terrible. :smt018 We managed to get out one weekend and went to the areas we knew very well and with slow caution. I'm not sure with this last round of rain and what we are expecting today and tomorrow,we can even get down the road to the ramp. Our walkway last week was 3/4 underwater to the dock so I'm sure I'll find it complety over the railings tomorrow. Looks like after Friday things maybe start to dry out. I don't know if the Corp can let enough out for us to be able to find a beach this next week, but I'd be happy with just being able to cruise around some. Good luck to you! ( is Travis river fed? It always takes at least a couple of days after the rain it seems for the debris to start tapering off )

Lake Texoma is up over 5 feet in the past few weeks and two feet in the last 36 hours. Below are some pictures from Highport Marina on the Texas side of the lake.

Hey you got enough water there to make the marina a drive through.

hmmm wouldn't that be interesting if fast food resturants started poping up where boats could drive through as well.

Lake travis flood pool elevation level is 681, its at 695 right now with floodgates at all dams open, city of austin has closed the lakes for recreation and placed no wake buoys all over the place....... that does not sound like fun.... definitely screwed my 4th july holiday... ok time to figure out plan B....

Weather whacko everywhere

Hi All,

I puchased my 400db from Lake Texoma then shipped it to Houston
(clear lake) beginning of May.. it was then loaded onto a ship 28th May and will arrive in Brisbane Australia this weekend.

Once cleared by customs i can motor it down to its new home in Sydney which is about a 500mile trip.

When I left Texas there were some super cell storms (end of may) and everyone was struggling to get a flight out. I was lucky to be on standby and received the very last seat for my trip from Dallas to LA..

Since I have been home we have had storm after storm..the first storm pushed a ship onto one of our local beaches about 80 miles up the coast from me..I have attached some pics for you to have a look at

How do you think the 400 db would go?? as i need to pass down this coast

Wow, strong storms all over.

Heard on the weather channel this am that parts around Austin got 14-19" of rain in 6 hours yesterday. WOW.

They are saying that floodgates on Lake Travis will need to stay open at full operation for WEEKS to come. Lake Travis is also officially closed to boats. So it looks like we won't be able to get out on the lake for a while.

Of course I also have to be able to get to my boat. I hear that I would have to swim off shore 75 feet to get to my boat right now. :smt013
