Hello austinites, lake travis opened today for boating! wow its been closed since June 29! But looks like the rain is making a come back this week through the weekend... not sure if they will keep the lake open if we have another downpour like we did 2 weeks ago.

Sighhhh.. still closed here.... much debris and no ramps ( other than our neighborhood's where I can launch the Waverunners... A foot a day is all the corp is letting out.. I think they are hanging onto the water for electiricty later... Maybe by Septemeber!!!! :smt013

Say it isn't so. You mean you guys can't go boating because there's no water?
:smt009
I'm very sorry to hear that and as anxious and landlocked as I feel right now with my pending boat sale; I don't want to think about not be able to go boating when we want. To think it's because lack of water and not lack of fiberglass ; would drive me crazy,
Best of luck soon.

It's not the lack of water, it's the overabundance for us. Texoma is creeping down but the corps estimated, if no more rain, that the lake would be back to normal in mid Sept. It's at 640 right now, normal pool level is 619 and it's still flowing over the spillway. Gates remain open but the inflow of water from the river is just below the outflow of water. I need the lake to get to 635 before our marina will open it's ramp. Last weekend was the first weekend we have missed but the second weekend without our boat. :smt013

Luckydogs...We're on Texoma as well but keep our 280 in a slip. The problem for us is getting to the boat!

We're heading down on Thursday and will stay a few days as we still have power and water. Unfortunatley gas and pump-out are still several weeks away.

Worse!! TOO MUCH water.. Now how does that happen in Texas and Oklahoma?? :smt009 It's been like I was back in the NW..heh We are within about 9" of our yearly total. People are taking boats to get to their boats at the marina's. I just shake my head everytime I go over....

Scholarship, which marina are you at. We trailer ours and normally put in at Highport. We had to haul her up to Bunchombe Creek the weekend of the 6th and put in since he had the only ramp open. We kept her there on the trailer since he will re-open when the lake gets down to 635.

In the meantime, we've been bumming rides :smt013

Everyone needs to water their lawns more often, drop the table hopefully. Sorry to hear this guys! Hopefully you can get to your boats and get them out even though the ramps are closed

Luckydogs...We're at Alberta Creek on the Oklahoma side. It's just south of the railroad bridge that crosses the lake at Kingston.

Yes, I am familiar with it, we have some good friends over there, "On the Prowl". Were do you normally hang out at and is the water clearing up any your way?

We have friends by Caney Creek, Soldier Creek, Little Glasses, and Eisenhower so much of the time we're in the north and eastern part of the lake. Not sure if the water is clearing; I'll let you know when I get down there on Thursday afternoon.

went out on Travis yesterday for a few hours.

it is amazing how much this lake has changed in the past four months!

Luckydogs...The lake at the north end where I am actually looks pretty good, still a little murky but clearing every day. However, on our way down to Buncombe Creek to get gas the lake changes color to a nasty reddish-brown just south of the North Island. I added some pics from last weekend in my profile. As you can tell, it was a beautiful weekend. We saw no other boats out on Thursday, maybe 5 on Friday and no more than 20 on Saturday and Sunday. It was like we "owned" the lake. We're heading back down tomorrow afternoon for a few days.
