The 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year. A group of us are looking to spend the entire week up on your waters. When and where will fireworks be happening as we want to plan our trip around seeing some?

Lake St Clair is some beautiful Cruising grounds... enjoy... I stayed at Algonac and loved it... be sure to take pictures for us...

Mac Ray Harbor on the 4th has the best fireworks around , the swimming holes and back bays are the best around

Google MacRay they have a great pool restaurant and anything else you could want....

Cheers enjoy our lake....

Agree that Mac Rays is the place to be. Inground pool, restaurant, clean rest rooms, individual showers,etc... They also can help arrange free shuttles into local restaurants if you want to go into town.

Thanks Guys,

We have stayed at MacRay's in the past and have always enjoyed our time there. It's likely that we will stay there again during our week.

Are there any other towns/marina's that provide a front row seat for fireworks, or just plain provide a nice place to visit/stay?

Jason, I have heard that Algonac is nice. We have been past there, but didn't stop. It's also on the list of possibilities.

Algonac has Fourth of July fireworks that are set up in the St. Clair River. Usually a pretty good display but often times we are up in Lexington for their fireworks. If you are coming to Algonac then the Harbour Club has transient slips and since it is associated with Colony Marine, there are usually a lot of Sea Ray enthusiasts around. It's a 10 minute walk to the river. I don't know the date for the Algonac fireworks this year but it should be easy to find out.

Try coming up to St. Clair just north of Algonac on the St. Clair river. Not as much to offer as Macray's but a little bit quieter and still has very nice amenities. The fireworks are on the 4th, and most can be seen from the marina. A short 1/4 mile walk into town will get you a front row seat.

You might want to check the dates of the Detroit fireworks this year, they are normally never on the 4th.... but that will be the best fireworks show you've ever seen, I'm thinking you should be able to see that show from Macrays too... I think they have them on the 30th of June for Detroit...but don't go on the river to see them too much Chaos for sure.

Great info from all. Thanks, our itinerary is coming together.

Algonac has the best fireworks for the smaller towns and only about 35 minute cruise back to macraes, or if on shore 2 hours LOL. St Clair use to be pretty good but Algonac steals the show and you are right there!!
