Hi!
I just found out that Lake Oconee restricts boat size to 30' and under.
Plus, no galley, no sleeping quarters or toilet facilities can be on board.
The GA. Legislature passed a bill in 03/07 to restrict the boat size to 30'.
They don't want Houseboats. I understand the Reynolds plantation developers
and others pushed this one.

Lake Sinclair doesn't seem to have any such restrictions. Published ones at least.
Odd. Because Lake Oconee is separated from Lake Sinclair by just a dam.
I've about given up on Lake Lanier for a consistent boating venue for my
SRV240WE. I thought about modifying it with 4 wheel dune buggy tires to go
over the exposed mudflats.

No restrictions on Lanier that I know of.

Sorry wrong lake.

I wasn't aware of the restrictions on Oconee. Sinclair is wonderful. Almost always full.
Then there is Clarks Hill in Augusta and Hartwell if you don't mind a 2 hr tow.

It would seem almost anywhere but Lanier is a 2hr tow or more.

I was thinking of someplace up on the Tennessee river.
The Alabama legislature (read: land developers) is cooking
up some restrictions like the ones for Lake Oconee.
So, anywhere on the Alabama/Georgia side is definitely out for the long term.

Thanx for the replies.

I am wondering the same thing!! Where to boat until Lanier is back up? We've done the TN River plenty and it is beautiful. It is just hard to get to for a quick ride on a Wednesday afternoon! I heard somewhere (news or paper) that it would take 800+ days to fill the lake back up with average rainfall!! Boy, that seems like a long time!!! Maybe I need to sell the Oh Me!! and wait a year and get a 320 or something!!

did you get kicked by your horse?? your not making sense.
Allatoona is already up 4ft since the Corps slowed discharges. Lanier is undergoing repairs on the dam. I guess they'll plug the hole when that's done and start keeping the water here.

Repairs, do tell. This hasn't been publicized. What are they fixing with the dam?
