Nice shots. In the second shot, is the baby givin' us the Gansta Sign for Lake Powell?

I love that place! I'll be going up in a couple weeks.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

nice pics. we'll be heading down for a month or so and just tring to decide whether to wait till a week after labor day or go now and be there for the holiday.
leaning to waiting.

We launched at stateline launch ramp and we camped straight across from there. Most off the time for our big trip we camp in Kane wash which is in Padre bay. With gas prices and somone coming or going every day we deceided to camp close. I think in the middle of the week there were about 20 people with us.

Im really glad that the water came up but it didnt make finding A good beach very easy. All the trees that grew when the water was down are now all over the beachs and under water. The trees that are under water dont make anchoring very easy. We normally dont have A problem getting anchors to set but with the trees they kept getting cought up. We had to move beachs becouse we couldnt get them to set at the first beach.

We are going back on september 15th for a week or so. When we go back up we will probably stay at Wahweap marina.

Yep, that was my dad. He's been there a lot this year. He's coming up with us the week after labor day. And yes, we will launch at Wahweap. Can't wait! If you are there, we should hook up.

Yeah we should hook up if im there at the same time. I wont be there untill the 15th. How long are you staying?

We are staying through the 13th. But there is an outside chance I will be coming up with my 26 the following weekend.

I might not go up untill the 16th or 17th that way we can stay through that weekend.

We just got back last weekend - we missed you by a week.

We did the Bull Frog to Antelope Point trip. Round trip $700 in gas. 180 miles. We took 2 days down, and shot back straight back after three days in Antelope point.

Our first night we were blown off anchor at 300am woke up to the low depth alarm against the rocky shore, it was just a nightmare. It had to be one of the scarest moments I've experienced. It was just me and my 14 and 16 yr old daughters, in pitch black night. We pushed the boat off the rocks and started the engine only to wrap the rear anchor line around the prop.
Within minutes we were back against the rocks with me cutting line off the out drive while my daughter was in the water trying to hold the boat. We then spent the next hour trying to set anchor - finally I nugged the boat into shore and buried the anchor on land or rock should I say.

I made so many mistakes. I put my daughters in danger, and will never get over that feeling. For overnights I'll only rely on setting anchors on shore. If I had a for sale sign it would of been on the boat the next day. The rest of the trip we stayed at marinas and thank goodness we had high winds come up 4 out of our 7 nights. The last night at Bull Frog all you could hear for 3 hours on channel 16 was Maydays to the National Park Service. The sad thing was most couldn't give the NPS anything but a general location and NPS was having trouble finding people.

Well its been a week and the kids want to go back and the boats still in one piece, so we will probably try again in a few weeks.
