Lake Ontario South and East Recommendations

We are planning a bit of a cruise from the 1000 Islands along the US side of Lake Ontario. Departure Saturday, Aug 5th.

Weather depending, we plan to go as far as Rochester then return home over 4 days or so. Our first stop will likely be in Sackett's Harbour on the 5th, then keep heading West.

Looking at Oswego, Sodus Bay, Irondequoit Bay, and Rochester. Been looking over charts, reading cruising guides, and querying Mr. Google, but there's no replacement for local knowledge!

Any advice or recommendations? How far we venture West will spend on conditions / weather.

Keep an eye on the weather, lake can get ugly in a hurry. Sodus Bay would be a nice stop, been a few years since I’ve been there. Good protected area , shouldn’t have trouble getting dockage. Please let us how the trip went
