Lake Keowee 2011 Labor Day Raftup

That sounds good. So the "raft up" is Sunday?? I was under the apparently false impression that Keowee does not allow overnight on the water camping.

If that is not the case then that certinly opens up a whole new world of adventure for me. Lucky me I'm just an hour away in Greenville so overnight camping on the boat at Keowee would be sweet.

Thanks

Travers,
I have never heard that and have overnighted on both Keowee and Jocassee on the boat as have many others I know. Personally, we will definately overnight on Sat. Sun overnghting after the raftup is up in the air but a possiblity. Are you bringing anyone else along regarding boats and who will be on yours?

Well that is good information to know. We'll definitely get into that. Not sure if we'll (me and wife) overnight this time though.

Boat is still a "work in progress" and not sure we're quite ready yet for the potential "adventures" that it may create.

We'll come over on Sunday. We usually put in at Crow Creek up by Hwy 11 as that is easy access for us. Probably do a liesurely cruise to the raft up site in the morning. Will hang out until we need to head back to reload and head home.

Looking forward to this!! Hope my poor old boat isn't too embarassing, it is what it is!

Awh, come on! What's boating without adventures? Just adds more stories and laughs to your log book. Ya gotta start somewhere. At least you are on a boat. I can promise you will figure out what to have ready for the next overnight.

Nothing better than just messing around on a boat!!!

Believe me, my young friend, there is NOTHING--absolute nothing--half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing,

Hey folks looks like the weather will be good for the raft up. Any decision on the location yet??

Thanks

Sweet dreams, that sucks man. Sorry for the no show this year but Old SKool still sits under the tarp. Relocation and work schedule suck right now. I hope those that can make it even though it's not an "official" date will have a great weekend anyways.

Yeh,thanks. I'm bummed and really hate it too. Hope everyone out has a safe and fun holiday. Hope you get yours going soon.

Oh wow, that's too bad. Guess it's the sign of the times. I can certainly inderstand though.

Many of us expend virtually all our energy trying to keep our jobs, protect our meager personal resources from corporate CEO thugs and ensure yahoo politicians in DC don't steal the rest of OUR countries resources. By the time we're done there's not much energy left to actually "enjoy" the benefits of our labors.

Maybe next year we'll be in a more relexed state of mind and can enjoy our blessings as they should be.
