It's probably a good thing we have our boat out and put away for the winter. I know that I have never seen 18-22 foot waves forecast for the near shore! The open waters of Lake Erie must be absolutely horrendous.

Whoa! I'm still in the water--supposed to come out this week, but I doubt anybody will be moving boats until at least Thursday or Friday.

I hope all is well w/ your vessel.
Some tall waves just been posted for Lake Michigan as well.
Sound like it will get pretty rough for water near northern Indiana.

The Wilfred Sykes is steaming North about mid way up.

I wonder if she ducked into a port or plans on sailing north. Seems like a poor choice to stay off shore although she probably would have trouble running an inlet. I've seen freighters drop the hook a quarter mile offshore of the Grand Haven light house until the lake settles down and it is safe to enter our port.

Last year there were 28'ers comming into Port Austin at the northern tip of the thumb, Rolling right over the breakwall - There were whitecaps inside the breakwall by the docks, Crazy. I wanted to go see them tonight but my daughter had dance so I couldn't make it. :(

I have tomorrow off, and I have a new SLR that I'm dying to play with.

I might take a ride to the Blue Water bridge tomorrow.

Just read a national weather service alert that reported sustained 50 knot winds on Lake Michigan from Monday PM until Tuesday AM. Suggested recreational boaters stay off the lake and recommended that commercial vessels consider staying in port. Jezz....."I'm from the government and I'm here to help you."

Well its damn snowing here now ,the ground is almost covered,CRAP CRAP CRAP bring summer back.

Snowing here too... FML! This blows! (And its not just the 60mph winds)

Mabey shes at anchor,hopefully safe.

If that is inside the breakwater, the harbor looks unprotected. Any idea where the pic was taken?

Man though waves have some force behind them. On a side note some might say the storm is racist since the waves are crashing down on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd!
