We have a 2001 Sundeck equipped with 5.7 mercruiser with Bravo 3.
Hit rock last fall. Had to replace the lower unit. Now it’s short of power. Have replaced plugs and wires, exhaust flappers, anti siphon valve and props. All which have not helped. The gear ratio is correct. Props were repaired, so they are the same. Props are 22.5 pitch. Dealer says it’s a big boat for that size motor. Can only get about 3,000 rpms at full throttle. Can get 4,500 plus in neutral. Boat is slow out of the hole, but will plane after a bit. Would switching to 19 pitch be any benefit? Any ideas.
