I have been searching for our next boat and recently looked at a 2018 L550 sedan now I want to get on a Fly. I am only looking at the 2018 model year because this year they built the boat with straight shafts and Cat engines.

Does anyone have any insight on performance, handling (rough water) and installed systems reliability of this model year? Is this a good or bad choice now that SeaRay stopped building larger boats?

Thanks,
JB

JB, I can't help you with the L550 but if you want to see how a 550 Sedan Bridge handles rough water go to Youtube and search for "Umatilla Days 1", then watch 2, 3 then 4. Each one is only about a minute long but will give you and idea of how they handle in 5' and up to 8'-10' waves.

Wow! That was some pretty rough water... and you and the boat seem to have handled it well. I wish I could find some good feedback on the newer (2018) models besides hearing or seeing videos from the dealers.

Thanks for sharing,
JB
