I've seen other post about bulb replacement, but thought this was a little different.

I've been wanting to replace all my lights including my nav lights with LEDs to pull a fraction of the watts. However, when you go into the boat stores, it'll cost a small fortune to replace all your lights.

Then I came across a great discovery. One that the boat stores don't want us to know about. You don't need to replace your light fixtures at all! There are companies out there that sell bulb LED replacements. That's LED bulbs designed to fit into your existing light fixtures. The great thing is that they're no more than the original bulb. I've already replaced all the courtesy lights on Firefly for less than $15. I can now run all my courtesy lights and they draw less power than just one light before I replaced them. The only draw back is that the light emitted has a bluish tent to it. Some people don't like that. However, the company I purchased from offers LEDs in many different colors.

I still haven't found LED replacement bulbs for the halogen reading lights though :-(

The company I uses was superbrightleds.com and they shipped same day.

Very cool, could get colored lights for mood lighting.

I don't think I would bother with the running lights because the motor is running when they are being used.
I went to replace my anchor light with an LED and got sticker shock. I bought one of the reg low amp draw type(uses 80% less amps) on Ebay last year, it is photo sensitive and has a 12V plug. I just strap it around my anchor light mast. I didn't really see those bulbs last year to fit the anchor light.

The different colors are cool. For my interior courtesy lights (the ones that shine downwards, I got both blue and amber LEDs. The blue ones are really cool while the amber ones are ... well, more romantic.

I agree about the running lights being used while the engines are running, but the nice thing about LEDs is that they almost never blow. Once installed, they virtually last forever.

I even ordered the 36 LED panel that replaces my overhead cabin lights. I just ordered two to start with and haven't installed them yet. I should get that done this weekend.

If anyone finds an LED replacement for those halogen 10w bulbs please post where your found it.

I also would be interested in an LED anchor light for the purpose of lowering the battery drain when anchoring over night.

I’d like to find one at a local retail store so I can figure out the correct size.

My 2 anchor light bulbs looks close to this

I dont know the correct size. I think they are 12 Volt 10 Watt.

PS: I’d also like to find a low amp drawing LED refrigerator and air conditioner.

Presentation:
Just use a ruler to measure the length from tip to tip of your anchor lights and that's the size to order. You don't have to worry about watts just make sure it's 12 volts.

I just ordered two of these (using the above to size) for my spreader lights.

Does anyone have the part number for the LED substitutes for the festoon bulbs that Sea Ray uses for the running lights?

I don't yet, but I will soon as I'm going to replace mine soon.

Me too. However, I am inclined right now to replace the entire assembly with a metal version if a size/shape-compatible unit exists. The plastic Perko unit has never impressed me and is prone to corrosion such that the bulbs must be replaced about every other season.

Just replaced my radar and cockpit bulbs with 1142 Superbright L.E.D.'s Thanks for the inspiration. Pics were taken with my iphone but you get the idea...

I did the same thing last weekend (although I didn't have my camera along). Got them from superbrightleds.com. 7 bulbs with shipping cost me under $30.

Firefly..... thanks for posting this info. I too got sticker shock when pricing bulbs at marine and auto retailers. Superbrightleds prices are quite reasonable, and it looks like they can match up just about any bulb we need.

I've have replaced the bulbs on my 260 sundancer with LED's from Oznium.com...I really like the dummy connectors that come with the lights....Took less than 5 mins to change my interior lights out...they come with 6 different plugs (2 Bayonet and 4 festoon plugs) I bought the 2" x 2" interior light replacements and wow what a difference they make...They are very quik in shipping and customer support.

Could you let me know which ones you ordered since mine would be the same bulbs? Thanx!

I ordered their 4211X6 Festoon LED's. They are found on their site under the automotive bulbs section. They are literally a pull out the old bulb and insert these and DONE.

Superbright LED's has both a high intensity and regular intensity. I went with the regular as I like "understated" when doing colors. The radar arch (2 lights) is done in red and I did the cockpit lighting (5 lights in blue).

By the way, I will not take credit here as this information was provide me by another fellow CSR member. Gotta love this site.

I just ordered replacement LED bulbs for the arch and cockpit in red from Superbright. I really wanted to do blue, but they did not have the 1142 bulbs in blue...only red.

Anyone know where to get blue LEDs for the floor courtesy lights?
