KVH M1 direct tv??

So my '08 290 AJ has KVH system installed and I can't get it to work. The Direct TV box had 3 green lights. Mounted next to it is a directed tv small black box also powered up on channel 14. Under the vbearth are 2 additional directed tv black boxes. The flip down tv powers up and I put it on AV1 as the instructions state. I've called both KVH and Direct TV and can't get the promo channel. Is there a switch somewhere that controls cable tv that might need to be changed. The system worked for previous owner. Anyone have an experience with KVH?Thanks

Make sure your Glomex antenna booster switch is off. I don't know your system, but mine has a satellite power switch in the panel and another one outside the panel; make sure both are on

I would say to find and adjust Glomex control but experiment with its effects on your system. On mine, the Glomex control needs to be on and turned all the way clockwise for the satellite TV to work.

Thanks guys. I did locate the Glomex control I will experiment with that. I did notice that the frisbee on the hard top is missing could that be part of problem? Also I called a tech and he said something about a switch that has ariel or cable in case u hook upto cable at a dock any idea where I might find that switch? I looked where the shore cable connections are.

I couldn't get mine to work either, so one day I stopped a Direct TV repair/installation truck and talked with the driver. I described the system and asked him if he would come down after hours and take a look at it. He came down on a day off, looked at the system, waved his magic hands over it (meaning I don't have a clue what he did!), then called Direct TV on the phone to have them "send the authorizations" to my set. They did that, and now it works fine.

I just have to make sure we turn on the Direct TV box at least once every 30 days to make sure it doesn't lose the authorizations. If we forget and it loses them, we just call Direct TV and they will resend them, then all is good in the world.

Does it get any better than being able to watch the beauties on Fox News while you're on the water????

On mine, the glomax has to be off. Shouldn't matter if your missing the glomax antenna, it has nothing to do with the Direct Tv. I have to be on CH 3. Hit the menue button on the Direct TV remote and see if you're getting a signal. If so, you just need to call Direct TV, give them your account number and card ID and they will boot it up for you. If your not getting the signal, your problem is with the antenna or equipment. I don't have a direct tv box for the aft cabin so I can't help you there. I'm guessing the two additional Direct TV Boxes you mentioned are the KEC DVD boxes.
