Hi my 02 sundancer has a kolher 5k model 5e generator. Lately when I shut it off after a few hours of use. It will turn on by itself??? Even if I shut of the gene and shoreline switch.. Has anyone had this issue????

If you search this site you will see some posts on this subject - years ago in Asia I had a boat at a marina with no electricity and my gen set was set up to auto start when the batteries got down to a certain voltage in order to maintain the batteries and bilge pumps.

At least some of the Kohler units have a similar option that needs to be bypassed or turned off, if you search the site I seem to recall someone discussing how they turned it off on their gen set.

Had the same issue and it was linked to the low batteries... I presume. I changed out all 5 last year and haven't had the problem since.

Second the failing batteries cause. I had a few random starts that disappeared after replacing the aging batteries. You can also make it happen by turning off you cockpit battery switch and immediately turning it back on. More evidence it is tripped by low voltage.
