Kohler 5ecd generator

I'm working on a Kohler generator in my 270 Sundancer and find it interesting that there is no manual fuel shutoff valve. Should there be one. I'm considering adding one. I don't think there is a fuel filter in this as well. Any suggestions?

if it is like my 320 there is an electric solenoid at the tank that turns the fuel off when not running

the fitting where the fuel line attaches to the pump is a filter
