Trying to help a friend fix his 330 generator

Coolant boils out past the pressure cap. Cap has been replaced, thermostat and impeller replaced, and it has very strong raw water flow. The only other thing I can think of is a head gasket leak allowing exhaust gases to pressurize the antifreeze side of the cooling circuit.

Any other ideas ?

What year is the boat/generator? The flow of water is not a good indicator I have found out the exhaust. I have found the best way to determine if there is a clog, is placing you hand in the exhaust. If it is above warmer bath water there is a clog somewhere.

What year is the generator/boat?

SeaRay just issued another service bulletin about the Kohler 5KW. All related to overheating.

Service Bulletin #14-12 (From last year) was issued as part of a USCG Safety Recall.
It impacted Kohler 5EKD, 7.5EKD and 10EKD generators.
The recall was specifically issued do to "Overheating Concerns"

The bulletin told me to contact my dealer. They run the serial number on your generator to see if it's on the recall list.

The bulletin I received last week refers to an error code and emergency shutdown related to overheating and continued restarts of the generator can cause a fire.

Have heard many on here talk about overheating due to air in the closed cooling system creating an airlock. All systems will appear normal, but the airlock will cause overheating.
