I have a kohler 5e which is running as usual but I am getting no power to the panel. It is as if the breaker on the generator tripped but I have checked it and reset it several times. I am not getting any lights on the panel to show power but the generatir is running fine. It was running fine when we left the dock about 1 hr prior. Of course we are out on the hook in the rain as I am typing this so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jason

Check to make sure you have switched from shore power to the gen in the breaker panel? Could one of the fuses on the front of the gen be blown?

Tks, I started the gen this am and noticed it was not pumping water, I know it was last pm. So I changed out the impeller with a spare I carry and I swapped the 2 10 amp fuses. What do you know I have power again. I need to get to the bottom of what occurred but it us nice to have the generator on again on this rainy day in oak bluffs.
Thanks again

Just wanted to update on the solution to the problem. The reason I was not getting any power and then it returned was because of a loose ground wire behind the switch panel. The only reason I located this was when I returned to the dock I had no power from the generator again. I touched the switch panel and the power returned it was like magic. Any way I took it apart today and the main ground wire to the generator/shore power switch was barely hanging in the connector. Cut and replaced it with a new connector.

I think if I had not have touched the panel and saw the power return I may have been chasing this problem for a while. I believe I would have started diagnosing at the generator, before I checked the wiring at the switch. Someone was looking down on me for this one.
