This is where I got mine for my 5E that was surging really bad with no load. It runs like new again. Like everything else now I see its gone up 50 bucks though

How easy is it to swap the carb out? choke and throttle linkage, a hose or two? New gasket?
i really couldnt find any videos on it. nor on where the low idle jet is actually located if I want to try cleaning that first

30 minutes tops, including opening the beer. Two nuts and it will be very obvious once you get in there

where did you find the carb part number cross reference? can't find one.

just like my universal diesel i buy Kubota parts for half price.

I had to replace my carburetor recently on my Kohler 5E generator. After not running the generator for most of a year or so, it wouldn't start or run when I went to winterize it. I was able to get it running with starter fluid to winterize it, and so I knew it was most likely the carb all gunked up.

Removing the carb was a pain in this boat. I had to unbolt the freshwater tank and slide it away a couple of inches to be able to remove the cover on the side of the generator and get to the carb. After that it was pretty easy.

Then while attempting to rebuild the carb, I somehow accidentally broke a piece of the main carb body that held the float and needle. Damnit. So I had to buy a whole new carb.

Kohler 359847 Carburetor Assembly 359847-S Genuine OEM

I found the best price from Austral International Co. Ending up paying $258.00 a year ago (ouch). Looks to be over $300 and backordered now.

After install of the new carb, it fired right up and runs great.
