Koehler 5KW generator remote access stopped working

My remote generator control in the Salon Power Closet stopped working. The selector switch on the generator is set to Auto. The light is on at the remote switch in the Salon Power Closet and only shows the generator hours. If I press the mode switch that should cycle through the menu settings nothing happens. Could the switch that you press to change modes I.e. start, stop, engine hours, engine temperature etc be bad or is there other issues that might cause the remote start to malfunction.

found the problem. The pin connector going to the right side of the generator was corroded. Cleaned all the pins and now the remote start/stop on the Power Panel in the Salon work.

Did you try turning starboard battery power off temporarily? I've seen my display get hung up or at least in a mode where I didn't know how to start it. Cycling DC power reset it and fixed it. I'm wondering if you unplugging the cable really just cycled dc power and actually was the root cause. Either way, you'll have another trick to try in the future if it reoccurs.
