i had a couple of readouts on the smartcraft that said knock sensor. the boatyard suggested that it was either old gas or a manifolds job was imminent. the boat spent its first 3 years in fresh water on lake mead. could it need manifolds replaced already.

Yes at least check the risers and the manifolds. I didn't and got water in the engine. As a mechanic I was able to save the engine. That took most of the summer on weekends.
I replaced mine with the aluminum ones as I come out of salt water into fresh.
I was told every 2 years. Learned my lesson quick

how much should it cost to have the manifolds and risers checked and how much to replace if needed? do you actually replace them or is it gasket replacement?

i had the mechanic out and he thought the knock sensors on both engines went off due to old gas. this is most likely the case because i had 9 month old gas in the boat.
