Not one to gloat, but watching the sunrise this morning off the atlantic has me feeling good.

We're on our first family vacation in 5 years (I don't count count weeks & weekends on the boat a vacation - otherwise I might start feeling guilty about my non-puritan ways...). The extended family has spent fall break at Holden island NC for years.

Watched the fishing boats haul in as the sun rose red in the east with a cup of coffee... Only thing that could make it better would be if we had our boats here. Kybishop (brother) is here too, a couple houses down with pop.

Hope to wander around and admire the local Sea Rays, maybe hit a West Marine in Wilmington or Myrtle for some window shopping (we have no marine stores to speak of in the bluegrass state). Otherwise just hang out on the beach with the kids.

You guys on the coast are lucky with all the big water. Well, except for the salt part.

Hey get some pics posted of that sunset!!!!

Yes you are right we are lucky. Our condo faces east and we get to watch the sun rise over the Cape May Coast Guard base each morning, unless there are clouds. It is good

Life is good in the OBX. Had a great dark red sunrise this morning which gradually lightened into a pale orange. Good way to wake up and drink a cup of coffee! Then reality set in and had to start working... Enjoy your vacation! I spent 3 years in KY in the early 80's and hated every minute of it - was gray from about November 1 to April. Very depressing for me - so soak up that Carolina sun.

Yep, That was it! BTW - Whats OBX? I see that a lot on car windows.

I like the alternating seasons of KY. When I get tired of one, another comes along...

Chatuge - will have to wait on pictures, my wife handles that department... unless my brother can post.

Now am I gloating?

Yep - OBX is Outer Banks. Glad you're having a good time - feet up and a cigar... Life is good!

Good picture. Were you in Supertramp?
We need one with your boat next time.
Thanks for sharing.

Yep, good cigar, decent rum... life is good.

Suppose to be cooler and rainy today though, oh well.

I'll play around and try to get some pics up of those sunrises and sets when the wife gets up and helps...
