My isinglass was on it's way out when I bought the boat two years ago and over this past summer the cockpit portion of it really took a beating. After getting several quotes for replacement I finally dropped a deposit today for new isinglass and a bimini top.

This is only to replace the helm area and has nothing to do with the after cabin glass which thankfully is still pretty good.
Total cost came out to $4175 since I paid in cash and included "smilies" on all the windows and a roll up section of screen material on the front window.

I know that this could probably be done for 1/3 what I paid if I just knew how to sew. Now I just ahve to wait the 8-12 weeks that he needed for the lead time to finish other projects.

On the plus side though, I'm getting the boat compounded, waxed and sealed from the water line up for $40/ft. :smt021

If it has anything to do with boats, you can expect two things: (1) a 1,000% markup and (2) for the work to not be done properly. :)
