Hi everyone...as I mentioned, I will be finally boating again this summer. Anyone out there have any words of advice about these old battle wagons?? Recommended upgrades? Issues? Like it or hate it?? Thanks.

I just bought the same boat about a month ago. I have only put 10-12 hours on it but have had 2 plesant suprises. First I can't get over how stable and well mannered this boat is, and secondly its very fuel efficient --at least compared to what I expected. These are great boats I am sure you will enjoy it. Best of luck with her

Paul, thanks for the reply. Great surprises! I am looking forward to the stability but the fuel is a nice surprise! Do you have the twin 454? What rpm are you cruising at and how many knots does that get you? How many hours? Any pics? Talk to you later.

It's a great boat Miss Maddy. I've had my 340EC for 6 years and I love it. If you don't have it already I highly suggest a camper back for a little more protection from wind/sun/rain etc.... They can be pricey but add so much to the usability and comfort of the boat.

After crawling in and out of just about every spot you can imagine over the past 6 seasons I've gotten a pretty good knowledge of these boats so feel free to ask any questions about your new toy.

TMAL2,

I have had the boat for 3 weeks and have put 30 hours on it already...I love it. I agree about the camper...all in due time.

What do you know about the AC water pump? I need to replace mine....

How are your stuffing boxes looking? Are you dripping once every 20 seconds..ish?? more or less?

How about your rudders? and drips?

Thanks.

Why do you need to replace A/C pump? It doesn't run at all? Mines on SB side just forward of the holding tank. If it runs but doesn't pump, you probably just need to prime it. Can't tell you about stuffing boxes, mine leak like sieve when running and after an hour of sitting they drip every 8-10 secs. I'm planning on repacking next year, don't want to go too tight and score shaft.
