DANVERS, Mass. (AP) -- A Rowley man who said he burned the soles of his feet while walking barefoot on a metal ramp at a Danvers marina has filed a lawsuit, saying the facility’s owners should have warned him the ramp was hot.

Norman Pelletier claimed in his suit that he suffered second-degree burns after walking on the ramp at Danversport Yacht Club in June. His lawyer claims Pelletier required medical attention.

The lawsuit, filed in Salem Superior Court, seeks at least $15,000 in damages.

Pelletier’s lawyer alleges the yacht club’s management was negligent because it didn't warn visitors the ramp might be hot, and it failed to provide a “reasonably safe” environment. He said the ramp temperature reaches up to 120 degrees, in the sun.

Marina officials say they have never had any complaints about the ramp.

WTF put some shoes on dumba$$. I hope this guy doesn't have any offspring!

Just how much beer or pot must for have in you before you realize your feet are burning... For a second degree burn on both feet he had to stand there and ignore the first degree.... What a dumb ass....I wanna be the judge to hear this case

Problem is, he will probably win, the attorney will get 50-60%, and the insurance premium for the marina will go up, along with every other rate for marina's since they will now have to post signs "In the blazing hot sun, this metal --ramp, pole, support, etc. could get hot. You don't need common sense anymore, just an attorney willing to show the court how stupid you are.

We've been telling Gary to wear shoes for years, he just won't listen.

If he's suing for burnt feet :wow:, I should be suing the bug-bomb people and win millions. :smt001

There was no warning label on the can saying...... DON'T use this on a boat or you could die.

A law suit over a hot walk way? How about suing flip flops how many people fell when wearing them. I can tell of one fall where my wife was wearing a pair of flip flops slipped and fell on a wet diamond plate ramp in a marina hurting her knee. When she came back to the boat Seeing she had hurt her knee I asked why she didn't have your boat shoes on. A friend was crossing my swim platform with flip flops slipped and almost went in the water. He stopped wearing them. A girl on a boat next to me slid across the swim platform with a pair of flip flops on and went into the water.

Anyone else have flip flop stories?

I'm gonna have to get with my lawyer....after reading this article I got sick and it made my eyes and head hurt. Can I sue him for 15gs for making me seek an eye doc?
