Putting together my exhaust, and with any luck I'll be floating tonight. the restaurant is opening today, and I'm being evicted from the parking lot.

Ha funny u said that. That was my first stop but they were closed. Good thing i guees but im using allure I think it's called. Seems like it well hold up very well. Nothing to absorb water and looks pretty resilient.

Paul,
Time to move you to the "participating list"

Are you guys planning to stay in Zach's for 4 nights (Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon)?

Most likely we'll do the same as last year, spend Fri night by Statue of Liberty and get to Zach's on Sat am.

After reading the South Shore LI Restaurants thread, I was thinking maybe we can do one night in another location? Any ideas and/or interest on doing it?

I was planning on Friday night by the Statue, then getting underway in the morning, heading for Zach's. The rest is open.

Dale

I will do the Statue on Friday, then Zach's Saturday. I need to be back for Tuesday, so I can stay Sunday night somewhere, but have to head back Monday night.

Although I still have no electronics, so I may have to be home before dark on Monday.

Dale, I know you do awesome work with metal and wood. Can you make a fiberglass overhead electronics box? The guy that was supposed to do mine still hasn't even started it.

I'm also be heading back Mon late morning or early afternoon. If anyone from LI gang has suggestions on where to migrate our raft maybe on Sun afternoon, I'll be up for it.

We've done Nautical Mile one year, which was interesting. I wouldn't mind to go some place else for dock-n-dine on Sun eve.

Still working out our plans for the weekend out with the Admiral. My concern with taking "the show on the road" is that I am not sure which of the restaurants on the water have the space to accommodate our fleet. The Nautical Mile in Freeport has the most docks available for several restaurants and has Town docks, all of which could be full on Memorial Day weekend. One of our favorites is the Fisherman's Catch in Point Lookout. The restaurant is big enough and has great food, but the dock space is small. They only have room for one or two boats, on first come first served basis. In theory we could keep the raft in Zachs and all pile into one or two boats and shuttle over to FC or Freeport.

Greg,

You know, one would think that boaters, in general, being a successful bunch, would be better at planning and scheduling (Alex, not a word). And yet, why is my phone ringing off the hook with people who want:

Repairs for last years damage
New davit systems
Brackets, widgets, and other sundry items
And now, an electronics box

I assume you want it gel coated, or painted with Imron or Awlgrip? We can certainly get the box made, and then sanded, smoothed, primed and painted. But this i such a busy time for me, I don't want to commit, and then be unable to deliver in a timely fashion. My day job is super busy right now, and between my business, home maintenance, trying to get my boat ready, and finishing up a restoration on a 98 Lincoln LSC (my next car), I am just buried. Having said that, what's your time frame?

Dale

Taking couple of boats instead of the whole raft is always an option. We just need to pick a decent place that has room for the party and the boats.

I glanced on the first page and based on the current list (assuming that at least 50% of maybies will be able to attend), we'll need to take at least 3 decent size boats, to bring everyone to/from the dinner party.

The "shuttle boats" will have to be on the end of the raft for ease of the taking off and returning in the dark process.

It's definitely an interesting and very much doable approach. If we have enough interested crews, then let's see all the restaurant options and who wouldn't mind volunteering their boats.
