JL Speaker Amp tuning

Where do you guys set your bluetooth volume when adjusting the gain on your amp? I definitely get distortion in the upper range.

Where do you find the best crossover frequency? I have 2 6.5 mx and 2 7.7 mx in the cockpit. 2 6.5 in tower encl mounted to arch. 2 10” subs

By following the directions using the downloaded tones and a multimeter
I found my sound unsatisfying. Particularly at lower volume levels. Cranked all the way up it was impressive. I spoke to a JL engineer and he explained that these settings are recommended base lines and tuning by ear is perfectly acceptable. Sound quality is a subjective thing. I found for my taste that slightly higher gain on the sub and mid channels produced a more balanced sound for me. Most of my listening is done

Tuning instructions. According to JL, speaker placement and your boats acoustics play a big roll. Make sure you tune with all your HU filters set to off.
