Debating on buying this 1 amp and running my 4 Cockpit speakers with 1 10 inch Sub or should I split it up and buy 2 amps.... 1 for Cockpit speakers and 1 for my sub... Also does anyone know what the factory amps push... This amp only pushes 100watt each speaker, If thats the case ill just leave the factory for now... As of what I have now.. Just not sure what factory pushes.

4 New cockpit speakers running off Facoty amp and a Fusion Head unit... Adding a Sub this year... Wish I can add 2 only room for 1 I think... This is the Amp I want to add

I cant speak to this particular amp, but I am a J/L Audio fan and have a different version in my boat. That amp looks like a very good match for your speakers, but you may need to upgrade the sub at some pint, the factory/low end 10" subs are usually 300W.

What ever the factory amps are, it would be very worthwhile to upgrade to this amp. Amps are not good forever, and eventually the Caps start leaking/failing.

i can’t find a bigger sub… What sub would you recommend?

IMO 1 dedicated amp for the sub and one dedicated amp for the 4 6.5s is a better configuration. That said, depending on your budget, and what you're looking to get out of your setup, the five one single amps are pretty good now.

As with all 5 chnl amps, they are technically 2 amps in one chassis. 4 full-range chnls and a single mono. A single 5 chnls typicallly has a smaller footprint v's a 4 chnl and a mono of similar wattage. The 5 chnl also only requires a single set of power cable and circuit protection and can run on a single pair of RCA.

This particial amp can drive 4 or 8 full-range 4 ohm speakers or one or two woofers. It can be run in 1 chnl mode, 2 chnl more or 3 chnl mode. So you can have up to 3 individual volume zones.

If your speakers are the MX650, then the MHD900/5 is perfect for them. However, do you know the woofer's spec? Need to know this, in order to determine if the 900/5 will deliver adequite wattage. With that said, the 900/5 will deliver up to 500W rms to a woofer between a 1.5 to 4 ohm impedance.

That’s what I have in our boat. That sub with a 700w 5 channel JL amp, and 4 7.7” JL cockpit speakers. Clarion head unit. Sound is amazing.

Looking at the JL subs, the M3 is 175W, the M6 is 200W and the M7 are 600W (but only come in 12" versions and are $1k!!). So instead of 2x 10", might want to consider the 12", as it might be easier to install.

That amp has plenty of power for what your doing, and as long as your reasonable with the volume, you should be good to go, but if your cranking it up all the time, you might "wear out" that sub!!!

I think im going to go with the m6 10 inch because I hear a 10 hits harder with the bass and I can just keep the power down on the Amp

Pardon me for not knowing the exact components. I know the previous owner spared no expense on a lot of the upgrades he did, but we just bought it in September and wrapped it for winter right after purchase. So I found the manuals. This is what he bought.

The M6-10 is a good fit for the MHD900/5. That amp can be procisely tuned to match the woofer's needs.

As to the comment about a 10" "hitting harder" then a 12". I dont know the technical qualification of hitting harder, but with 40% more surface area, a 12" in the same enclosure type and proper size/tuning and powered with the same wattage, will have greater output then a 10". The output difference between a 10" driven with say, 250W rms v's a higher power handling 12" driven with the 900/5's full rated 500W rms, would be off the charts greater.

I'm a big JL fan but had serious problems with the MHD Series. I had three of the MHD600 24V units from about 2013. They were made to be stackable but they overheat. All three had various zones die within 3-4 years. Switched to the M Series (also 24V) which have been excellent.

I've twice paired JL speakers with rather low-end Rockford amps. I've been very pleased with the sound, especially for the money (<$200 per amp).

I just noticed I dropped a channel on my 4 channel amp a couple weeks ago. After 4 seasons, and for as cheap as they are, I'm not even mad about it :)

I love all the JL stuff. It is spendy but has been a good system for me. The free Air subs dont put out the bass I like so i added two 10" subs in ported boxes.

I just had a friend do a whole system using all Rockford and if I had to do it over I might of gone that route. It would of been cheaper and his boat almost sounds as good as mine.

We are running:
4 JL M6 8" at floor height and Powered by: JL HD 600/4
2 JL M6 7" in the arch and 2 JL 8" at floor height Powered by : JL HD600/ 4
2 JL M6 10" free air subs at floor height and Powered by: JL MHD750/1
2 Kicker square 10" Subs in ported boxes under rear bench and Powered by: Kicker 46 CXA1200 Monoblock
