Hi everyone,

Recently, both myself and another co-worker were in need of a new wiper blade. Rather than mess with having to find the "Ford" blade or adapting our current wiper arms to accept any "J-hook" style blade, I thought it would be better to just put on a newer style arm that already has the J-Hook. Then I thought, "Hey, I bet other people would be interested in this". So... if you're interested, I've made these available for $31.50 (includes shipping and Pennsylvania sales tax which, according to the PA tax guys, we have to start charging no matter where it is sold to). Just PM me with a contact number and I will call you. These are brand new wiper arms.

Here's the benefits:

-- It will fit any wiper motor with a 1/2" snap-on style post (see pic below)

-- Adjusts from 13" to 19" (as measured from center of motor post to tip of arm). The tip of the wiper arm will approximately equal the center of the wiper blade. The adjustable arm (thin metal in picture, below) can be cut to drop the lower measurement to 11".

-- The J-Hook part can be adjusted/rotated to match your windshield

-- This arm allows you to use ANY commonly available wiper blade with a standard, J-Hook connector. Even the newer silcone blades!

-- No more hunting for replacement blades! Buy them at any auto store!

Again, if you're interested, PM me with a contact phone number and I will call you to get a credit card number (I'd prefer not to have you send your credit card # via a PM or email).

Note, the product being offered is (1) wiper arm - it does not include the wiper blade.

How do you remove the wiper arm? mine is actually misaligned and it gets stuck on the side of the window so i can't use it.

There's a small "catch lever" built into the arm that keeps the arm mounted to the post. This lever is simply held tight to the post by tension. The bottom of the lever has a 90* bend in it so that it tucks underneath the threaded portion of the post. You can't really make out the lever in the picture, but it's located on the arm-side of the "cup" - the "cup" being the portion of the arm that fits on the post. Pretty much right above the 1" mark on the tape.

If you can look underneath this portion of the arm, you should be able to just barley see this lever.

What you need to do is carefully pry the lever back a little with a screw driver - so it clears the threads. Do this while at the same time lifting up on the arm. You can carefully use another "tool of choice" to help lift the arm off.

The lever is the only thing holding the arm on. It does fit snugly on the post - at least it should - if the post's threads or the cup isn't worn too badly.

Try to get your wiper in the full down position before you take it off so you can re-align it properly.

Now, all that being said, I've also found that you can simply pull up on the arm (pulling the wiper off the windshield) and gently, but firmly, pull the arm off the post. I don't recommend making a habit of this as the "lever" will eventually round off the bottom of the threads thereby making the arm more likely to pop off by itself - which will, of course, be right in the middle of a torrential downpour. :smt001

Unfortunately, since yours has gotten caught-up a bunch of times, there's a good possibility that the threads on either the post or in the cup are stripped. Hopefully, if anything, just the cup's threads are stripped.

Dennis, do these articulate...if you bend them back, do they stay up for cleaning the windshield?

The wiper blades on ours are shot, and they have the old style connector ends. It struck me that now would be the time to replace the arms, blades and inserts, but I wanted to see if the replacement arms that were available here also articulated. It is a little annoying cleaning windshields and having to hold blades back (not that big a deal, I grant you, but worth asking), so I figured to find out before I ordered them...to the shock of my wife.

Jedi,

These do not stay by themselves. I'm not at the store all the time right now, but I called over and had a guy go check on a boat in the showroom. They pull away from the window about foot, but do not "lock". It's quite possible the 340DA uses a different arm (probably longer, too?). There are others available from Sea Ray, but I had ordered a whole bunch of these at once to keep the costs down.

OK, thanks. It may still work. We are a week away from delivery still due to schedules and weather and I will evaluate then. Merry Christmas.

No problem. Be sure to double check the shaft diameter and the length to see that this is the correct arm for your boat. I *think* the other popular shaft diameter is 5/8".

Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you, too! :smt001

I have removed the wiper arms from my 380DA and it appears they are Dyna 24" without the washer tube. The wipers are 20". Does anyone have a source for these? So far, I have only been able to source them from a bus supply business in Texas.

Do you know if these will fit a 2003 320

I don't know. You've got a pretty big windshield - I would wonder if the arm of the one I have is long enough. Best thing would be to measure what you've got and compare it to my pictures and measurements above. Don't forget the motor's shaft diameter.

Other than the direct replacement from Sea Ray (probably on the pricey side), I don't know.

But, are you just looking for the blade? Do you have a "J-hook" style arm? I'm guessing not since you probably would have just bought a blade from an auto store - I just wanted to clarify.

If you don't have a J-hook, you should be able to get a whole new arm that does... or adapt what you have to work with any blade from an auto store.
