Newbie / 1st post.
I have a 99 330 and am looking to put new props on her. What is your opinion of the 4 blade v. 3 and would you happen to still have those results?

We have never run the boat with the 3 bladed ones that were in the cabin, only the 4 bladed ones she came with. I can tell you shaving the 17 X 17 4 bladed one down to 17 X 16 to match the existing 17 X 16 one dramatically improved her WOT (from 4000 to approx 4300) and the boat flattens (should say flattened) out much nicer now.
All the prop experts I have talked to state the 4 bladed ones provide better handling when docking and a smoother plane.

dpmulvey....what engines are in your '99? You have either the 310 HP MPIs or the 380 Horizons. I had the 310 MPIs.
I do not still have the detailed results. The maint. records from the previous boats got "lost" during an addition to my house....don't ask.
Basically what I've already said....gained some low speed manueving, quicker to plane and improved fuel economy. Lost some top end WOT Speed.

The engines are 2007 6.2L Horizons mounted to Velvet Drive 5000's 1.5:1 Ratio. The new rigs are replacements by the previous owner for the 7.4 MPI's that suffered water ingestion.

Is that a hardtop on your 330DA.....????? with 6.2s.....???? that's seems like a lot of extra weight added..I realize you "lost" some weight going from the 7.4s, but you also lost some torque...I see why you may want to go with 4 bladers!!!!

Yes, that is a hardtop on his 330, custom made by the original owner.
