Was wondering what causes orange peel effect on isinglass and can it be fixed? :smt100

Chemical damage, acid rain etc. can do that. A common cause is run-off or over-spray of canvas waterproofing. I've done damage with waterproofing, but I've never been successful restoring it.

I set a piece on the bottom of an I fill piece for my cockpit seats and it gave me some orange peel.

The orange peel and pitting is usually from water droplets aka moisture that sets up inside the salon glass. Mostly in the morning when the dew point is high. Next the sun rays get magnified via the droplets which burns and etches the plastic glass.

Best defence is keeping the air moving around inside.
