If you do the glass work yourself.
What works really nice is.....
Them really small 1" OD X 4" 3/8 Nap paint rollers for the Glass Mat. That really soaks the Glass Mat easy for the high bulk structural build areas.
Then for the top layer. Use The finer weave glass.
Use the 1'OD x 4" foam roller. That puts down just enough resin to soak the fine weave glass. Makes for a smoother finish.
Prep the area by sanding with 120 grit sandpaper.
Xylene works great for cleaning all oils waxes of the preped area. Can be mixed with resin to slow down the resin gel also if needed. Aviod doing that if you can.
Working when its cool outside makes the job much easier also. Slows gel times down a lot. Giving more working time.
Adding layers of glass before the resin sets. You would not have to sand between coats either.
Once your all done, You can come over and beef up the stringers on my boat, Just for the heck of it :grin:
