Extra fuel tank under bed.

The EC should have about 240 gallon tanks from the factory
The Sundancer has 172 gallon capacity.:smt089 (and they are under the aft/mid birth)

5.7 liter 454's !? - new math.....

Were crusaders an option on this vintage of 340 (87 - 89)? - He listed Crusaders in the specs and Mercruisers in the description
All the ones that I have ever looked at had Mercruisers

NOW I SEE!

Yes, that setup might 'weird me out' a bit.
Additionally, I think there is a warning label that says not to put anything heavy in that compartment!

I owned an '89 340 Sundancer. Personally I wouldn't want a fuel tank under my bed. That said, the 2 fuel tanks are under the mid-berth and I did sleep back there a few time and never gave it a thought. I do understand the concern of the long fuel line run but protected, it should be OK. More of a concern to be would be that extra weight up front and the change of handling characteristics. But then again, the 340da is an a$$ heavy boat to begin with so maybe it would help. It looked like a professional installation.

Chris Craft made a model in the '80s called the 381 Catalina. It held over 400 gallons of fuel and all of it was under the bed in the master. I almost bought one several years ago as I really liked the layout but that much gas under where I slept made me a bit nervous.

Yes imagine after a long night of partying and sex your mate decides to have a smoke!

A whole added reason not to smoke in bed!

A boat like this is to small for it to matter whether you sleep over the tank or not. I sleep over the tank in my mid-cabin all the time with no worries. If it does catch fire I would have to exit past the tank area even if I was in the V-berth. My boat likes bow weight handles better.
