For the record I don’t watch any TV news. They are all corrupt, including Fox. That’s probably your problem, you spend your time listening to news readers and pundits regurgitate the Fauci, CDC, WHO, etc. talking points Rather than actually listening to experts.

Did I give in? Yes. Was I happy about it? No. Did I have a choice? Yes. My choice was to lose my job, probably lose my house, boat, and everything else I have worked for. There are very few jobs in my field around here (like 3 or 4 in my county). I would probably have to take about a 70% pay cut and drive to an office every day, costing hundreds more each month. If I refused the vaccine then my career would likely be over and if I could find a job that wouldn't discriminate against me (less than 100 employees) then at that point I may be better off dead. I have made that commute to downtown where the higher paying jobs are and between fuel and parking it would cost me about $15,000/year (I know cause I did it before). And the odds that every one of those companies has over 100 employees is pretty high so those wouldn't be an option anyway. I'm currently a gov't contractor with a secret level security clearance. Every one of those jobs would be off the table for me. So in my mind it's the better of the 2 evils to just get the shot. I grew up broke and poor and don't ever want to go back there. But the gov't should not be forcing it on us either.

You're a fool if you think the vax kept you from getting COVID - Says someone who got COVID from an asymptomatic person. You got F'n lucky. This virus is random as fuck. That said, I couldn't give a sh!t less (to all those that say they "could care less", please do care less) who gets vaxed and who doesn't. The side effects of the shot were way harder on me than the disease itself. The idea that the unvaxed HAVE to get vaxed to protect the vaxed is fucking absurd.

But watching Joe Biden scoff at the thought that AMERICANS have the FREEDOM to choose to or not to get vaxed was very disturbing. The guy is obviously a dildo serving at the pleasure of Barak and that attitude is an obvious reflection of the attitude of his handlers. He has no independent thought these days, probably never has. I chose to get vaxed because my wife is immuno compromised and my Mom is 85. But f*cking try to force me and you will find out how much I care. If you give up your freedom on this issue, you give up your freedom on all issues. Period.

I am vaxed and had COVID AFTER getting vaxed. I will pass on the booster. I should be super immune.

No two people’s situation are the same and I totally sympathize with the dilemma you faced.

I just quit my job. Career of over 35 years in healthcare then healthcare IT.

I invested in my education without any loans. My parents (Cuban immigrants) housed and fed me and my 3 brothers. I paid my tuition myself. I studied full time and worked full time during college.

I’ve been in hospitals all over the world.

I’ve traveled globally including South America, EU, including UK, and Nordics. Canada as well almost all provinces.

I’ve been a direct contributor and a senior executive with global P/L responsibilities $150M company.

My most recent position was SVP Global Sales and Business Development.

I quit. Resigned. I refused to take the biotech product into and through my veins.

I am switching to another industry I have passion for and that company CEO assured me, and forwarded me his all company email that they would not be following any vaccine mandates- period end of story.

I now earn >50% LESS than my last job.

I am happy and have peace.

The boat bubble seems like it’s deflating vs bursting right now.
Interested if there’s a global burst or simply a decline over time.
 
I worked in a steel mill and got hurt and had to change careers at 35 years old. Went back to school nd earned a B.S. degree and graduated at 40. In the process burned through my retirement just paying daily expenses. I'm making great money now and am finally building my 401k again but taking a pay cut will put a stop to that. So that is the dilemma I was in. Either leave my current job, where I know I will never make this much again, and work the rest of my life, literally, or get the shot and hope to retire someday.
