Have a sony stereo head that has the Ipod connection...I pulled out
the stereo head and the Ipod wire coming out of the back of the unit goes off into
a wire loom towards the starboard side bow area.
Have the ipod deck in the starboard front closet and thought that
the connector would be connected here..plugged in my ipod, only sound I could
get out was when I plugged into the headphone connector of the Ipod...sound goes
to the 2 speakers mounted on the front deck rails.
Anyone have any ideas where the ipod connector would be??

I've got a 2010 330 with (I'm guessing) the same setup. The plug in the forward cabinet (near the v-berth) is for the bow speakers.

On my boat, the ipod hookup is in the cabinet behind the couch closest to the stereo/breaker panel cabinet. Check there.

OK,
Will check there...thanks...
The stereo head is a Sony CDX-HR905IP and it has an IPOD connection cable attached to the back
of the unit...Don't know if it is USB as I can't find the end of it.

Same here. There is both an Ipod aux port and a USB port in that location.

I just checked again all the cupboards behind the salon sofa..nothing..checked in the aft cabin cupboards..nothing,
the only thing I see is the ipod dock in the forward starboard hanging closet......there is a headphone jack
that allows the ipod to play through the bow rail speakers. There is also an ipod connector.......Have tried this with the stereo
set to ipod and nothing....Have pulled out the wall section that it is mounted in to take a look...there is a small amplifier for the bow speakers and some other wires.
Do you have the ipod connector in this starboard closet as well as the headphone jack?
I am thinking that this is not wired up properly...

When you say iPod Connector, is it the connector that goes directly into the iPod charging port - or are you referring to a USB? If it is the connector that goes into the charging port on the iPod, is it charging the iPod? On the Sony CDX-H910UI that I installed in 2012, I had to plug in the iPod charging cable into the usb connection on the Sony head unit. So long of the short, if it is the charging cable that connects to your iPod, if you get no charge or sound, follow that cable back and see where it plugs in to. You may just have a bad cable.

When I say "ipod connector" it is the actual flat connector that connects to the bottom of the ipod/ipad charging /data port.
Yes, I have to trace this cord and see where it goes.....When I plug it in to the ipod it does not charge...have to trace.

No, in the starboard closet there is a mount for an Iphone and an aux input. It runs the front speakers only. Complete waste as it sounds horrible and the speakers are falling apart.
I will take a photo of the Ipod connections I have this weekend. You can pick up an FM transmitter for $10 if you are lacking the Ipod connections. The sound quality is not the best but it will get you through until you can do a permanent fix.

edit: Well, I looked up your head unit.....You have a direct IPod connection and is not connected to a USB port (lame). So if your connection is bad you are probably SOL. Here's install manual - I couldn't find it in english...http://download.sony-europe.com/pub/manuals/eu/CDX_HR905IP_IG_D_F_S.pdf

If you decide to run through the AUX IN ports, keep in mind that those are 'Balanced RCA' ports - running a headphone to RCA L&R cable may work, but it may not sound as good.

I wonder, If my head unit would replace yours. It looks like the rear connections are the same. That may be an option. https://docs.sony.com/release//CDXH910UI_install_US_ES_FR.pdf

Also, the FM transmitter would work as well.
