Has anyone successfully upgraded to System 4.2 and seen the benefit of the alleged new features? When I first tried to upgrade, I received error messages (unknown Error 11) which were not in the Apple knowledgebase. I managed to upgrade this morning (v4.2.1 - maybe my previous experience wasn't isolated hence the x.x.1), but I can't see any changes (i.e., no print capability, folders, or anything else) even though my "About" clearly shows that I'm upgraded to 4.2.1.

Is there something simple I'm missing.

For what is supposed to be an intuitive device, the non intuitiveness of this upgrade is really ticking me off!!!!!!:smt021

AirPrint isn't fully baked yet. The app needs to support it and you need to have an AirPrint-enabled printer for it to work as advertised. HP is the only one making these printers right now. There are ways to make any printer work but it takes some jury-rigging. Most of the features of 4.2.1 are not immediately obvious and are found in the Settings.

The print option can be found under the export icon -- this is the icon that has an arrow jumping out of a box.

Google "airprint" and you will find a lot of info.

Press and hold an icon. When it starts to jiggle, drag and drop it onto another icon. A folder that contains both apps will be created. When you select this icon, it will open up a selection bar.

Double click the front button and the mult-task bar will appear.

I've had trouble maintaining my wi-fi connection ever sense the upgrade. Need to turn it off and back on every time I start my ipad.

Thanks guys. I've now rearranged stuff in folders and understand the basics of multitasking. How the heck did you figure this stuff out JustUs2? Is there a resource I'm missing? Anything to add on why you think this new software rocks Turtlesboat?

Google of course :). Searched on iOS 4.2. I thought the update would at least come with a "read me" file, but didn't. Another resource is iBooks. They have a free download on using iPad.

Thanks again JustUs2. There's far better support here than on the Apple site!

I like the integration with the new appleTV. Just tap a button and pics, movies pop up on the TV. Also works as a remote for the apple TV. The new software also seems much more stable and faster.

Don't forget the remote location and wipe option using MobileMe, my favorite new feature of 4.2

I can't get it to work properly with Apple TV. I can stream music via Airplay but not video. If I open a movie on the IPAD and then select Apple TV, all I get is a frozen frame on my TV. Both the IPAD and the Apple TV have the latest updates. Frustrating!

Certain videos are not supported. It's not real clear and not documented but it seems as though large, HD videos don't work.

I can throw small videos and Youtube videos from my phone to my Apple TV.
