Looking at adding an inverter so I don't have to start generator every time we blend a drink.. looking for simplest system advice. size of inverter for load. Also we only blend in the galley. I am very proficient at wiring 110 and 12 volt. Not sure if I want to do separate battery. That could lead to another bank for charging. Not sure how long a single battery setup will operate a blender. Let's go smart people. Thank you

Why not get a blender that runs off of 12 volt?

The 12v blender won't have as much power as the 110 system. Different motor completely. We've done this both ways and frankly found both to have drawbacks. A blender motor on a decent quality 110 AC will be pulling 500 +/- watts. If you do all the math, that means a DC battery with invert will give you at best about 45 minutes of blending time. That's with a full charge on the battery. You'll see a drop in power after about 30 minutes as the voltage starts to diminish. This might be ok for you depending on how many pitchers you're making but by my recollection, it comes out to one minure of blend time per margarita.

The 12v blender lasts longer because it is a much lower drawing motor.

The inverter you need will likely cost more than the blender btw!

My Ninja 1000 watt chainsaw of a blender runs just fine from the 1800 watt inverter I installed. I had a post on the inverter install some time back. The Ninja also has suction cup feet; perfect for the boat.

Thank you Gerry. Not very promising numbers. Break. It I will take a look at Your post.
