intermittent starting

i am experiencing intermittent starting on the starboard engine on my 2005 390 with 8.1 engines. it will occasionally start on its own but i usually have to use the emergency start button. after it starts the first time using the emergency start, it will usually start on its own after that. sometimes not the first try but after a couple of presses on the start button it will fire. any ideas?

Had the same problem with my 454 Horizon. Replaced the 2 batteries for that side ( Starboard) and all was good after. When you press on the emergency button you are using the other batteries and it satarts because you have charged the battery with the alternator but if they are shorted out it doesn.t last.
I suspect you need batteries for the Starboard engin
