Intermittent gauge lights

While running in the dark this weekend I noticed that I would lose the back lights on the sc1000 gauges intermittently. They would all go out at the same time. The compass would stay lit and the system view screen would stay back lit. I've checked all of the connections I can find behind the gauge set. Any other ideas?

Check your ground connections.

Where would I look to check the ground?
Green wire, right? Where should it be?

So the grounds look good. However if noticed that the gauges themselves don't shut down. Jus the back lights. The compass and navigation lights aren't affected but all gauges go out at the same time.

Grounds in the engine compartment coming off the battery's. Also if you have a dimmer switch on the dash run it back and forth with the lights on. Ask me how I know that one.!!!!
