Ok I tackled the mechanical problem with the fuel pump cleaned all the dirt out of fuel tank replaced damaged rotted wood under drivers seat and fuel tank area and sealed and painted and installed the fuel tank hopefully I'm all done with that kind of work for awhile. The next thing I would like to do is get rid of the paneled 70's basement look of this 1988 230 weekender .The cabin area is in good shape but I would like to get some idea's from everyone on what to do with the wood overload with the cabin doors.I think less is more when it comes to all this teak paneling.Did the late 80's models all look like this.

look in the modifications section
several good looking ideas there

Most of us love our teak. But almost all of these old Sea Rays have a laminated wood finish over particle board. Once the finish is ruined on the laminate it is toast.
Refinishing the teak is relatively easy and rewarding. The laminate can be painted if prepped properly. Other then that you will be tearing out and replacing or covering with a veneer to change the feel.

Good luck and post pics.

I did a faux finish on all my exterior photo laminated wood pieces. It was pretty easy and looks amazing! I reprinted the dash and the base of the helm seat with Hammerite paint (epoxy/glass)
