I have seen other 30' Sportfishers like that. It's basically the express boat with a slightly difference house and a bridge, if I'm not mistaken.

In the late '70's Sea Ray had two lines of 30' boats; the above was a Sportfisher based on the 300 Weekender. Small bridge, and notice it's open on the aft end. Most seem to have a drop curtain here for protection from the weather.

The other 30 footer of the era was the 300 Express Cruiser (the bow doesn't slope down as much at the 300WE and has two seats molded in), and the 300 Sedan Bridge, both using the same hull.

They didn't have prop pockets in the hull in the way the '80's boats did. Just straight shafts under a v-hull. Because of this, they planed easier and handled better at slow speeds and in the marina, but weren't as fast once on a plane.

Thanks for the information. Just noticed your from Brownsville, one of our favorite marinas.

I talked with that guy a few months back. At one point he had a trailer for it. Said he pulled it around with his 3/4ton Dodge. The beam width and hull color was the deciding factor. I wanted to stay under 10' wide. and red and yellow are my least favorite colors.
As said above, most make drop curtains or as in the picture it doesn't take much to enclose them. It's what I have in mind for mine. I gotta keep the admiral warm.
