I am now with Boat U.S. Renewal due in few months. Wanted quote for taking boat to Fla from Chesapeake Bay area this Nov for about six months. The add'l premium is OUTRAGEOUS!!!

If you're doing the same, what is your insurance experience? Whose your insurer? :wow:

Did you specifically ask for a quote for a time period outside of hurricane season (December 1 - May 31)? Within hurricane season, Florida is expensive.

Its really expensive and racheting up every year ...

Buy cover based on the boat not being in Florida waters before 12/1 and out by May 31.. It will save a pretty penny.

try insuring a boat that sits in the water full time in Florida. It is utterly ridiculous.

NBOA told me no and Allstate told me $1800 for my 240SD

I agree Florida boaters take it in both insurance and storage/slips

We live in Florida and have a 2006 240 SD. we pay about $695 a year.
